Welcome

Native food or 'bush tucker'  is fundamental to First Nations identity.
The native food sector provides significant opportunities for the global growth of First Nations-led businesses.

In 2010, the ‘farmgate’ value of the sector was estimated at $15-25M and has been estimated to grow to $7B by 2030.

Unfortunately, rates of engagement and participation from First Nations people (particularly women) in this industry aren’t very high.

A consequence of this is risking the permanent loss of important Traditional Knowledge related to the cultural practices and technologies of native Australian foods.

EM-Power Foundation is on a mission to change this, by helping to create and
build successful career paths for First Nations people in the native food sector .

2025 GOALS

EM-Power Foundation develops long-term, shared-value partnerships with organisations that have a commitment to empowering First Nations girls and young women through native food programs.

“The program was so educational, the resident speakers/mentors provided such good value. My mentor has been an anchor and a light for me, assisting me in breaking down my vision into chunks that feel real and achievable”
